بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Aya of the Day:
He said, “I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah , and I know from Allah that which you do not know. [Surat Yusuf, 12:86]
Lesson of the Day: Complain of your sadness to Allah
Truly it is only Allah who knows what we feel inside. Ramadan is a time when we increase our acts of worship- we increase our du’a, our prayers and our charity. So this is the perfect opportunity to turn to Allah with all of our problems, no matter how big or small. If we feel sad, if someone has wronged us, if we do not know why we are feeling low- this is an invitation to ask al-Jabbar to heal your brokenness (Read about Allah’s Name al-Jabbar here).
Throughout the year, we may be accustomed to turning to people when we feel upset- our best friend, our brothers/sisters or our parents. But the Prophet Ya’coob (as) is teaching us something- he knew who would ultimately understand how he feels, and who could help him in the end. May Allah make us of those who turn to Allah frequently.
